How to Get TONS of Client Success Stories

One of my private coaching clients was asking me how I’m able to get hundreds of success stories on my websites, in my studio, and on my marketing pieces. Well, it’s kind of a sneaky strategy, but clients love it, and these testimonials are so powerful to use as social proof to convince potential clients you are the right person for them to work with. Here’s how to do it:

I actually have 3 ways for you to easily get TONS of client success stories:

1. Member of the Month:

When I was first starting out in my studio I asked all my trainers to nominate a client or two each month to go on our “wall of fame” (directly outside our studio door in the hallway). It was pretty cool because the clients knew they were being nominated to go on the wall and they also knew that if they won they would WIN a free nutritional supplement of their choice!

So what else happened with the clients who didn’t win?

They are still success stories and we added them to the wall! They just weren’t the member of the month, but they’re still a success story highlighting their hard work, dedication, and results!

2. Body Transformation Contests:

This one is awesome!

AND, if you don’t specialize in weight loss here’s what else you can do:

* 700 Club for athletes (big 3 lifts should add up to 700lbs or more, etc.)
* New green, blue, brown, black belts for martial arts studios!
* Most improved dance student
* …the list goes on and on!

 Here’s how we do ours:

We hold a 12 week body transformation contest the 2nd week of September and the 2 week of January (2 peak times for weight loss clients).

We take all their body composition stats, photos, etc. on their 1st day, 6th week, and last day of the contest (12th week).

When the contest is over either the client writes an essay or the trainer turns one in for them. Plus, the CPT writes up all their stats and takes their photos (front, back, side).

We give prizes away to the top 3 finishers, but guess what happens with every contestant who enters?

We use all their photos, essays, and stats as NEW SUCCESS STORIES!

Everyone signs off on it when they enter the contest and everyone loves reading all the new testimonials that cover the walls!

3. The Personal Email Request:

Sometimes, we’re not running a body transformation contest and we no longer do member of the month (we’ve been sold out for quite a while now with the same repeat clients who have already gotten their results), so what I do is email new clients who have gotten results and ask them to become out newest success story on our “wall of fame.”

Here’s the email I send:

“Hi XXXXX,

I just wanted to check in and let you know how great you’ve been doing and that I really appreciate your hard work and dedication – it’s really paid off!
After looking over your recent body transformation results I was impressed at how quickly you were able to achieve those results and how much you’ve accomplished in such a short period of time.

I’d also like to see if we can take a few after photos the next time you come in. These will be great to have to compare to your previous “before” photos and you’ll definitely be able to see how far you’ve come.

Plus, I’d love to be able to share your success with our new studio clients on our “wall of fame” outside the studio. These success stories really inspire clients who are where you once were hoping to get proven results.

All I would need from you is short testimonial on your experience and then I’ll take care of the rest. We can also talk about it more during our next session, but I did want to take a moment today to let you know how well I think you’re doing.

Congratulations again on all that you’ve accomplished and I look forward to continued success!

(Your name)”

After your client gets an email like that how could they ever say NO!?

I hope these 3 strategies I use in my studio can help you get dozens of success stories up on your wall within the next 12 weeks!

PS. If you can’t put them outside your studio door, just hang them in an area where people won’t be in the way when they stop to read them… you’ll be surprised how clients read them over and over and over again every time they come to your studio!!!

  • I just wanted to reiterate the point of how important it is to create success stories and a “wall of fame” for your studio. This “wall” allows you to presell each member without you having to say a word…

If you’re not currently doing this I highly recommend you make it the next thing you do for your business!
